How do I get rid of yeast at the bottom of the bottle?
I like to homebrew a few times a year. It always comes out great except that there is always a thick layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle. I chill it and pour carefully.
How do I get rid of it? The beer at the store does not have, why do I?

Use some coca cola to wash it away, then some hot water to clean up.
Don’t drink the last 1/4 inch of the bottles. There is nothing wrong with yeast at the bottom of bottles. In fact a lot of people pay a premium price to have it .
The beer you make is primered i.e. you add sugar when bottling it or there is sugar and yeast left when bottled. The fermentation in the bottles produces the bubbles or carbon dioxide to give lager beer its natural bubble. Without fermentation in the bottle the beer wold taste “flat”.
The beer in the stores is filtered and pastorized before bottled. The carbon dioxide is then added in the bottle machine as gas, there is even a bit excess of that compared to natural fermentation. In tap lager CO2 is added in the process of pressurizing the tapping.
To cut it short lager needs carbon dioxide and only way to make it in home brewing is bottle fermentation that leaves the residue(dead yeast cells), just pour carefully and enjoy bubbles.
